I want one, and have for about  a year now.  Is an SLR107 the best option for the money at the moment?  It doesn't have to be an Arsenal, that is just the first place I looked.

What are the odds that the selection of Arsenal rifles with poly side folders will increase?  7.62 or 5.45, it doesn't matter to me.  If there is a chance of something better coming along within the year, I can wait.

The Arsenal rifles are very nice. I think Arsenal USA builds rifles from whatever parts they get sent by the mothership in Bulgaria, which would explain what Arsenal sells a model for a while then that model is never seen again.

The AK100 type side folder is the only AK folding stock I've seen that doesn't compromise shootability: it locks up solid and you have a good cheekweld.

I've got an SGL-21; what would it cost me to have the poly folder installed and who would do it right and in a reasonable amound of time?

Is finding parts a problem?

If I am going to be out $400 (for example), I will just buy another rifle.  That isn't a result of precise cost accounting by any means, that's just me.

It's easy as pie*.

Just install the receiver that has the AK100 cuts front and back for the new rear trunnion and front stock lock, install the parts**, and you're done.

*For values of pie that include removing and installing rivets on a AK receiver.
**Parts alone are going to run you $300+.

In this pic from when my parts were just back form the painter you can see how the rear trunnion is different and where the AK100 receiver cuts are. BSW

For $300 in parts alone I think I will just sell one of my $400ish AKs and upgrade.  Thanks for the info.
