well, i was browsing the web and found some pics of export romanians being used by several different countries that have a unique setup. push button folding stock, muzzle nut instead of slant comp, blond colored palmswell hg's and the green nylon sling sent to us with the wasr or used for the aims74 in romania. there are pics of this model being used in iraq, afghanistan, and india.

like this.

i like the way the gun looked and i had all the parts to get close. i had the solid orange colored romy pistol grip, the pushbutton sidefolder, instead of the hardwood hg's i had a set of romy blond laminated hg's to use. most importantly i had a romy g build that shoots great for the base. the kit was a like new 1979 built on an nds-3 receiver then hot blued. i've got romanian arsenal marked mags for it and a 3 cell romanian mag pouch along with a romanian bayonet with the green nylon scabbard.

the 922 parts are the muzzle nut, tapco fcg and piston, and the nds-3 receiver.

i took it to the range and popped of a few mags today. here is a pic and vid of me shooting the rifle standing with no support at the 100yd range. i put a red circle on the rubber gong i was shooting at in the pic. you can see the dust flying behind the gong on misses and around the gong on hits. the video is shitty and was shot using my droid phone. if you expand it to full screen it's a little blurry but you can see the gong dancing a little better. the side folder is a lttle harder to get a cheek weld on combine that with shooting standing up with no support and i had my share of misses but didn't do too bad and kept all the shots minute of man for sure.  the gun shoots great and i really don't notice and difference between a muzzle nut or slanted comp. i used golden tiger fmj ammo.

Good looking rifle, simple compact set-up.

I use a muzzle nut on a "Khyber Pass" type build, I never noticed a difference when I took off my slant break. Seems a little more accurate now though...

Nice pictures and your range is really super looking. My range looks like it was dug out of a hill, and I think that is all they did.

$150 per year.  automatic gate.  heated and cooled restrooms and clubhouse.  skeet, trap, combat pit, cowboy town, archery range, you name it.  we have around 1000 members and i'm lucky if there are 10 people there when i go.  it's the bomb!

only drawback is the 100yd range limitation.  but hey, i'm not bitchin'......

Nice rifle and range!

I happen to prefer my pile of dirt / wood target posts / saw horse w/poppers set up. It has unlimited bathrooms (woods) and its heated and cooled depending on the time of year!

But seriously, nice range, and even nicer rifle!
