Hey guys,
I took my SGL31 to the range today, first time I fired it.  It was a a nice sunny day, little to no wind at all.  All I have available to me is 100yd ranges.  I was shooting the Wolf black box 5.45mm 60gr FMJ.

All I fired from was iron sights.  I took the scope off of my Dragunov to make it easier to shoot for groups (taking the bad iron sight out of the equation), but it wouldn't fit on the SGL scope mount.  So all I had were iron sights.

First I fired from a bench at 25yards.  I fired unsupported, no sandbag or anything.  Just making sure the rifle was hitting paper and making sure windage was on(no AK sight tool at the moment).  I didn't measure the group since I didn't really care, it was less than two inches though.  Just hitting 2-3 inches high.

Moved the target out to 100yd and moved the rear sight slider from the battle setting to the 100m.  I only fired one 5 round group.  It was from a bench and supported position.  Heres the target...

The holes from the SGL are the ones to the upper left of the bullseye.  The one down low is a 9mm hit when we were messing around shooting a CA94 at 100yd to see how it did.

Now, some people count flyers and some don't.  Obviously there is a flyer up high.  I'm not the best (or most experienced) with AK iron sights, so I'm confident it was a bad sight picture, but you can judge the group however you want.  I'm providing both measurements.  The squares on the target are 1 inch.

If you could the flyer:  2.75 inch group
If you don't count the flyer:  1.5 inch group

I was quite surprised.  I've always heard that 5.45 AKs are quite accurate, but I've never really tested it.  I am quite impressed to see this rifle may very well be a sub-2moa AK.  The trigger kinda sucks, it's gritty and fairly heavy.  So maybe a better trigger could tighten this up a slight bit more, dunno.

Well, there ya go.  I'm trying to post reports on all my new rifles as I fire them because it is information I wish was available when I shopped for the rifles

mine was also like your. the windage was straight on out of the box but the the elevation was a little bit high (like 3.5" high @ 100m) so i adjusted it a bit. btw, i also got sub-2moa like you with my best 5-shot group being 1moa @ 100m (no pics to prove it tho )

Looks like you have a good shooting SGL-31.

I love it.  It's awesome to shoot.  Seems like less kick then my AR, but more noise.  Similar accuracy.  Works for me

When I fired it without the muzzle brake, the recoil seemed the same as my AR.

Glad to hear your happy!

I had similar results w/ one of my rifles.

Old post of mine.
I have been seeing alot of skeptical numbers concerning AK groups.

The other day i shot my Virgin Bulgy AK74 barrel and used surplus bulgy 5.45 ammo @ 100 yards.

1st group... 3 shots = 1/2 inch, 5 shot = 2 inches, 10 shots = 2.75 inches

2nd group... 3 shots = 2 inches, 5 shots = 2 inches, 10 shots = 3 inches

3rd group... 3 shots = 3/4 inch, 5 shots = 2.25 inches, 10 shots = 3.25 inches

So, if i was to go by my avg

3 shot groups = ~1 inch @ 100 yards

5 shot groups = ~2 inches @ 100 yards

10 shot groups = ~3 inches @ 100 yards
