The trigger on my SGL21-71 is not resetting on most shots fired.  I have to flick the trigger forward as it is getting caught up and not resetting properly.  It usually does not do this while dry firing, but it is very common and frustrating when shooting.

I just thought I'd post and see if anyone has any guidance before I call Arsenal tomorrow.  By the way, what kind of trigger do they put in these, a Tapco?  Thanks.

They are not Tapco triggers. Arsenal makes their own trigger. Sorry I can answer all of your questions but I can tell you for sure that Arsenal AKs do not come from the factory with a Tapco trigger.

It the trigger has TAPCO on it then it's a TAPCO, If it don't it's not. Was this a brand new bought Arsenal?

try running the trigger wet with oil on all pivot points.

Yeah, I bought it new last fall.  I normally am pretty generous with the oil.

Take off top cover and check that the shepards crooks are on both sides of the trigger.  I had that problem and that was the cure.

Do you mean the spring arms?

I was going to post this but I'm assuming that's what you're referring to.

If this isn't it I would lightly dress the underside of the disco hook and the mating surface of the hammer with a fine India stone .  I little roughness here can cause the disco to hang on the hammer enough to keep it from slipping off when releasing the trigger.
With the cover off you'll see what I mean.

How many rounds did you fire? My sgl31 had this happen with the first 30 rounds and stopped after that. If it happens again at the range ill be putting a tapco g2 trigger group into it as I honestly like that trigger on my m70.

I think you guys have it.  My guess is that it is the hammer spring arms aren't properly over the trigger

Mine were and still had the problem. I think it was a burr somewhere that had to be worn off from firing.

This happened with mine today with the first 30-40rds then stopped.

I saw another thread in the troubleshooting area and it looks like my spring is on both sides of the trigger.  It might indeed be a burr or something.

How many rounds have you fired through it?

While a well oiled trigger may feel nicer, if it doesn't function correctly when bone dry then it is a major defect that needs correcting - and "oil it" doesn't fix anything, it only masks the symptoms.

If the R arm of the spring hasn't been swept off the trigger by the selector lever, then the "beak" of the disconnector has an overhang, or the rear surface of the hammer on which the disconnector grabs, is rough, or too flat.  It should have a very slight downward (toward rear) angle to it.

hone underside of disconnector beak to match angle of hammer.  Same on hammer.  disconnector should snap release "click" even with no oil
