Picked up an SGL31 today.  Super nice gun.  Feels very solid compared to other stamped AKs I've handled, not sure why.  The dealer asked me like 10 times if 5.45 was what I wanted.  I got the impression some guy bought a 5.45 AK from them thinking all AKs were 7.62x39 and got stuck with a gun he didn't want..haha

So now I have...
SA M-7 Classic
Bulgarian Krink 5.45mm
SGL31
NDM-86

Not a huge collection by any stretch, but it's all very nice guns  I'll try to drag them all out for some pics over the weekend.

Next on my list is probably a Maadi ARM so I have an AKM in there.  But that's a long while off...

I can't stop buying AKs either

So far I have

Arsenal SLR-106
Arsenal SLR-106UR
Krebs KTR-03
Polish underfolder
bulgy krinkov kit

had:
Valmet 71s
Romanian CUR-2
WASR10/63 (pos, glad i got rid of it).

Now I have my eye on picking up a PSL and turning it into a carbine.

You are walking a righteous path, my child.

Yeah, I'm getting rid of my cheaper guns, and buying quality.  I'm looking at picking up a few Chicom pre-bans this summer.  The only thing slowing me down is that every rifle I buy, translates into "So why can't I buy these $200 jeans and this $400 purse?" from my better half.  Gotta keep the girl happy to keep my ever-growing collection, growing.

Nice collection bud - is your NDM-86 chambered in 7.62x51mm or 7.62x54R?

Thanks guys  I gravitate more towards expensive AKs since they all go up in value.  A $700 that doubles in value gets me more money at selling time than a $400 gun.  Plus they are just much nicer guns

My NDM is a 7.62x51 gun.  I got that caliber because the gun was considerably less expensive and more accurate.

I'd say you have an awesome collection of some of the best AKs made.

Does it ever end?...... Yea, for me it did. After spending years collecting every accessory imaginable and 9 AKs, I realized that I only ever shot a few and most just sat in the safe collecting dust. Bit the bullet and I'm in the process of selling off the majority to fund other fun stuff (stamps, cans, optics).

No, it doesnt end! You're off to a hell of a start but you NEED some type of RPK now.....dont you??

I slammed the brakes after buying 13 AKs.  I will not buy another.  I'm considering unloading a few sometime in the near future.

I feel your pain. I only focus on the rare/unique stuff now, and have even sold a few rifles to get them.

Theres a Yugo RPK at my dealer I have my eye on, but I can't bring myself to buy anything from Century.  I know the Yugos are made by another company, but I just hate the idea of supporting a company like Century.

It is an enjoyable thing, obtaining AKs. I took this photo over a year ago, these were my side foling 5.45 AKs at the time minus one that was left in the safe cause I got tired of carrying rifles.

At the time I had slightly less solid stocked 5.45 AKs than folders.

The collection has changed some from then, only one of these made it in to the above photo:

Some other photos of interest perhaps:

It all started with one crappy WASR 2.....

I felt myself getting out of control so I stopped it. I kept my favorite two rifles and sold the others.  I kept my two favorite optics and sold the others.  I kept my favorite furniture sets and sold the others.  I was collecting stuff and hardly using it, only my favorite stuff.  I am trying to get away from that "I got to have it" mode that I was in.  I found often times that once I had it, it was like.......well, now what?  But that is just me as I need to devote more time, money, and energy to other things right now.

Nice collections guys.

Did you get rid of the SAR-2 you got from me in Tucson?  I got rid of all but 1 or 2 of the AKs I had at that time. Started all over again.

I had as many as 5 at one time. Part of the addiction for me(as far as aesthetics)is the ability to transform the AK by merely changing the furniture!

+1 on that.  i had 12 ak's setting in my safe, under the bed, in the corner where ever i could fit them until it was their turn to get a makeover. once i made them beautiful it was off into the world for them. i have only 4 now but they are great ones. i'll get more in the future when finances permit . until then i'll shoot the shit out of the ones that i have now. milled bulgy, milled mak, wasr 10/63, sar-1 *EDIT* don't make fun of my walls, it's the only room my wife let me use for my stuff.

Many of the ones I used to have were post ban guns that after the AWB ended I unbanned them, redid the wood and sold.
