so im preparing for my AK build. so far the plan is to do a khyber pass type build, ill most likely get a romy G kit, then the NDS receiver and the bulgy side folding stock.

my odd question is, most parts kits look reasonably nice. what is a good way to get the bluing all distressed and worn out looking? i dont have 50 years of warfighting to realistically wear it off...

steel wool.

just line your gun case with it, and after about 50 range trips, it will look like 50 years.

Flitz is another option.

SOS pads and a lube/oil/spit/whatever. Just don't over do it, go slow. Most of the fake BFPUs I've seen are over done.

Tie a rope around the rifle and the back of your truck and drag it down a dirt road.

Gravel roads work faster.
