All it has on the side is "AK 5624", nothing else. Does anyone know who made this thing?
Came in a parts kit I just received. It was a Romanian kit but all I've read it should have a factoty code or at least a date.

Perhaps the original rifle was intended for export and Romania wanted the least amount of identifiyig markings on it

Sounds like a scrubbed trunnion. I seem to recall Romanian having at one time, 4 production arsenals for AKM with one having no marking but I am not certain of this. Also, the lack of a date on your piece is weird.

Poeple have claimed that Romanian made trunnions without arsenal marks and/or without a date were made for export.
I've never seen any evidence either way.
