I am aware that the TGI truck gun 5.45 rifle requires American made magazines to be completely legal but can you get in trouble for owning foreign 5.45 magazines and storing them near the truck gun?

I have a TGI AMD-65 that the Mag. is part of the 922r compliance required items. I feel and it's just how I feel, unless one is seen using a non USA Mfg.Mag. by a BATF agent and this agent asks to inspect the firearm and Mag. what you have not in the firearm would have nothing to do with the firearm in question.
I have yet to read of anything like this happening. But anything could happen.

Easy solutions
1.) Us made stock set
2.) Us gas piston/brake/followers

Just add 3 more us parts and u can use any mags you want.

Any legality questions regarding 922 on here will result in a bunch of mixed answers from it doesn't matter, to the feds are on the way.

Just replace 3 more parts, and quit worrying about it.

If you need places to get them, I'll be more than happy to help find em for you. The followers in the EE are a cheap and effective starting point.

I bet so.  With the BATFE it's better to assume that anything that might look like it could be illegal, is.

For example, if you own a semi-auto AR-15 and you also have a full auto hammer in your garage without a form 4 and a tax stamp.  That's intent to build a machine gun and you'll get busted.  Never mind the fact that a full auto hammer without all the other necessary parts won't make a machine gun.  That doesn't matter to them.

Better safe than sorry.

But with the wide abundance of 922(r) compliance parts around, why not just buy a few things and put them in.

You'll need 3 US compliance parts to eliminate the need for US magazines (body, follower and butt plate).  The TGI website mentions that the current furniture is Bulgarian made surplus wood, so that's an easy place to start.

If you want to replace the furniture;
Warsaw Length US Made Polymer 3pc Furniture Set $70
Nato Length US Made Polymer 3pc Furniture Set $70
Ironwood Designs 3pc US Made Unfinished Wood Furniture Set $105~ depending on options

That's all the information I could find in a jiffy about the current compliance parts on the TGI Truck Gun.  But here is a list of K-VARs available 922(r) parts.
K-VAR 922(r) compliance parts

If you like your furniture the way it is, figure out what parts in the Truck Gun aren't US made and replace them.  It'll probably be in the manual you got with the gun.  And some of the compliance parts are a lot cheaper than the furniture.  You could have compliance parts for about $30 on that K-VAR website.  But again, it depends on what in the truck gun is already US Made and what isn't.

Not much more can be added to a AMD-65 and keep it as a AMD-65.

The TGI's come with 3 compliant parts installed, the FCG, the mag counts as the other 3

So, if you want to change the stock out, this would be the easiest means to get your compliance.

If you want to keep the wood on there here are some easy switches to stay compliant

US made 74 brake, good quality

US Made Pistol Grip

OR

Plum US made pistol grip

BATFE has never announced that "constructive intent" applies to 922(r) compliance.
BATFE did announce that "constructive intent" applied to "machine guns" and stocked pistols.

If the magazine isn't in the rifle, the parts of the magazine aren't counted.

There is also the school of thought that 922r only applies to the manufacturer, not the possessor. But to answer your question, it's perfectly legal to own mags with no 922r parts even when use of those mags would put you under 922r count. But I would certainly have a few USA made mags close by.
