I got an offer to trade my ar lower for an ak-47.  It (romy g kit) was put together by the individual and an individual who I know is very knowledgeable about the AK system.

There are two things about this gun though. One, there is no upper part of the handguard. No big deal. I was wondering would it be possible to attach a rail upper to the wood lower?

Also, the receiver is not finished. How big of a deal, and how much would it cost, to finish it? I could always get it done professionally, however if it is not hard I wouldn't mind doing it.

Try Ulimak for a mount.
Many people have finished their own rifles using dedicated firearm finishes. Some use high temperature engine paint. Neither is particularly difficult.

As long as those are the only things wrong with it, I would make that trade in a heartbeat (assuming your lower isn't a diamond encrusted, super rare lower).
