This gives a pretty good description
http://www.novarata.net/Linx310/toolkit.htm |
| Looking at the photo you posted, the left side functions as a "key" that it used to adjust elevation by sliding over the sight post. In order to provide enough torque to turn the post, the right side of the tool in the photo fits in to a slot in the cleaning kit storage tube forming a T wrench. The East German 74 cleaning kits include a tube in the storage pouch that is used to form the T, same function as every other cleaning kit with the exception of all the items being stored in a pouch and not the tube itself. |

I used it on everyone of my builds and make sure it always goes to range with me, the whole kit. It may not be as easy to use as some of the other tools out there, but it works. Plus, everything you need to break down that rifle is in that cleaning kit. I find a valuable resource and not something to be tossed. If you or anyone else still wish to throw it away, send em my way! |

Go to YouTube, there's a good informative video posted demonstrating the function of all of the AK cleaning kit parts. Yea, I think I saw the video you are thinking about, AFTER i posted here. Very ingenious, reminds me of how the mil 1911 were desigend so that it could take it self apart (with the assistance of a .45ACP case). So, I'm guessing that this tool will only adjust the elevation of the front sight, correct? To adjust windage, I would probably have to buy an aftermarket "clamp/vice" jigs? |
