The Century built Yugo M70 AB2 is being sold on every website.
But Atlantic Firearms is selling "better" M70's for $800. Says they are built off of new parts kits. So who actually makes these? and are they worth the $800 or should I just go with the M70 AB2? AKs are my favorite rifles but I'm not trying to collect super expensive rare ones or anything. I just want something that works good. Think the M70 AB2s will do the job just fine? |

well searching google I found this info on Yugo models...
Zastava M70B1 – with solid stock Zastava M70B1N – with solid stock and mount for night, or optical sights. Zastava M70AB2 – with folding stock Zastava M70AB2N – with folding stock and mount for night, or optical sights. the more expensive one listed by atlantic would still be considered an AB model. I'll just stick with the cheaper model. |

The last time someone from this site inquired about the $800 Atlantic Yugos it was revealed that they were Velocity builds using Vulcan receivers. Vulcan receivers are notorious for poor heat treating. It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy anything built on a Vulcan receiver. If the above is no longer true, then feel free to disregard my comments. |

Not bashing Atlantic, but, the ones pictured dont even have the correct pistol grip. I couldnt even begin to wonder why they are so expsensive. They probably did that for a compliance part for 922r. Easier to replace a grip than a gas piston! To the best of my knowledge there are no good USA made copies of the black plastic Yugo grip for sale anymore. So other aftermarket ones get used. Back when I built my Yugo's I replaced the GP's just so I could keep the stock grips. |
