This may be a stupid question guys, did a search, and could not come up with anything. I have always wanted a Polytech Legend, and after looking at the Lancaster milled receiver AK 47 with the russian style furniture, it really reminded me of the Legend.
I guess my question is, is there really a comparison between the two? Anyone own both? Is the Lancaster product a worthy substitute? |
| I don't own a Lancanster, but I do own two Polytech Legends. The Polytech is a near identical copy of a Russian Type 3. The Lancanster is not as true as a copy as the Polytech Legend is. I've looked at the pictures and they use AKM barrels, non vented gas tubes, parked finishes. The Polytech Legend has amazing quality. I'm sure the Lancanster runs just as well in function. |
| If you don't want to spend the big bucks that the Poly Legends command, do the 2nd best thing. Get a milled Chinese MAK 90 & the pistol grip & buttstock from Ironwoods & a few more US parts to be legal. While the gun won't say "Legend" it will be made in the same "386" factory & you'll have the same quality for a lot less $. I own 2. GARY N4KVE |

GARY N4KVE I've owned 4 Polytech AKs in the 90s and sold them all...but now I did the Ironwood Design stock upgrade to 2 Norinco milled Aks. The Ironwood stock set costs about 100 bucks. I fitted them up to the gun....took them off, stained them and finished off with a clear coat. They look great. |

but its got that nasty angle cut on it. Quoted:

I have two Polytech Legends and they are the 2nd best AK variant you can get in the US (IMO), the 1rst being Valmet. I have also debanned a milled Mak90 with Ironwood stock set ,which is almost the same as a Legend, and it was a fun project! |

I will own a legend someday..
I am strictly into chicom AK's .. so a real Legend will only suffice for me.. Have a bulgarian SLR93 milled receiver AK that I got a LONG time ago for about 200 bucks, so I already have a run-of-the-mill AK with a milled receiver. Time for the ultimate in AK's.. a Legend.. milled receiver, full stock, blued, built RIGHT... accept no substitutes.. Mak90? I have one already.. I am into the pre-ban stuff. NY'er and stuck behind enemy lines.. |
