I just traded a AR I had about $1000 in to a gun shop for a Yugo M76 and 2 cases of Yugo M75 8mm. I like the rifle a lot and will probably get it zeroed in and all that tomorrow. However, the trigger has a shit-ton of creep in it. Is there any way to put a G2 kit in it or smooth it out some other way, or is it just something to get used to?
I've read lots of people getting 2 MOA with milsurp from the 50s and 1 MOA with handloads. I'm wondering how much the trigger has to do with that 2 MOA. |

If you do get a G2 just be aware that a stiff breeze or light finger pull will make the weapon fire. I've never pulled such an easy trigger as a G2. I think I like it, but it strongly reinforces the rule about keeping your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire. |

you guys have any pictures? The M76 is a rifle I've been thinking about getting for awhile now I have to tung oil the wood on this rifle, it's dry as a bone. I plan to take care of it when I'm on vacation during Christmas/New Years. This rifle has been flawless, both accurate and reliable. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i123/Wolvydude/AK%20Pics/02d07fe5.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i123/Wolvydude/AK%20Pics/bbd55a3b.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i123/Wolvydude/AK%20Pics/fb2b7f4e.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i123/Wolvydude/AK%20Pics/cf0f6edb.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i123/Wolvydude/AK%20Pics/79305bc2.jpg Which receiver is on your M76? Beautiful rifle by the way. |

Beautiful rifle by the way. All the CAI M76's are milled receivers and new USA made barrels. Is that what you're asking? |
| Next question: Does anyone see why I couldn't use some foam sleeping mat material and 90 mph tape to build up the cheek rest on the stock to give good eye relief for the scope? Also, can the wood fore grip be replaced with synthetic ones? I'm kicking around taking a synthetic grip, attach a piece of picatinny and throwing a Larue/Harris bipod on it... |

For only $27, I'd skip the tape and use this instead. |
| Does anyone know the dope on Yugo M75 8mm, IE grains, average FPS, drops from 100 to 600 or 800, etc? Is it 198 grains or is that just the sniper stuff? I've seen some people say there's a deviation from 2300 fps to 2500 in one crate. Is this average? Also, is the elevation knob on the scope a 1 MOA bdc or what? Same for the windage. I had no books to know. |

I had no books to know. I foresee lots of self testing in your future.... These questions get asked somewhat regularly, but no one has sat down to explain all of thier personal testing. Some, I think, are not concerned with all those details. I am, however, and would love to share info such as that about my PSL, but unfortunately I do not own a working chrono, nor do I know the actual MOA for my rifle, as I'm using a Russian scope. If you test, please post some data. And whatever you do, please, please do not throw vertical foregrips, rails, etc. on that M76. And just use a rucksack, sandbag, beanie, whatever; instead of drilling that wood and throwing
a bipod on it. Now, if you could somehow fit a Dragunov-type bipod to the rec'r, then all is well. |

The only data I have seen for the M75 round is that the 198 grain bullet's muzzle velocity is listed at 2362 fps. I don't even know if that is accurate so take it FWIW. I do plan on picking up an extra lower handguard in order to mount a Harris bipod to my M76. I want the bipod option but I also want no trace of it when it isn't in use. |

I have no intention of drill the original wood. I shoot better from bipod than pack, so that's why I want to have the option. Does anyone know if you can use standard AK wood/plastic foregrips? I tried changing the pistol grip for an AR adapter and MIAD and that was a no go (I don't care about keeping a shooting rifle spec until I try to sell it, so you purists can stop crying now....) Thanks for confirming the dope I had heard. If I can ever get a chrono I'll try to get some data posted. These are really nice rifles, fellas. If you're on the fence, I'd get one now while they're available. I read that the Yugo M75 is the last 8mm surplus coming in the country, possibly forever. I don't know if that's just internet rumor, but I wouldn't play around. |

Quoted: Does anyone know if you can use standard AK wood/plastic foregrips? For certain standard AK/AKM handguards will not work. I have to compare the handguards on my M76 to those on one of my M70s to see if they will swap. M70 handguards are not too difficult to find if you know where to look. |
