The lower handguard retainer on my GP 1975 is stuck. The lever is stripped and can mopve freely 180 degrees, with that being said the retainer is stuck- it wont move. I dont know if this was done purposley. I got the GP 1975 from "classicarms.us" who I am going to call after I post this. I dont think the lever should be like this; should I get a rubber mallet and try to free the retainer? Im afraid I'll have trouble getting it back in position..I would like to replace the handguards with the UTG quad or the Midwest industries quad and want to avoid any problems.
Any suggestions?
