I'm looking to replace the standard sights on my AK-47 and my daughters Tantal with high grade night sights. I currently run XS Big Dots on my side arms, and may put them on my AIMR, but I'm looking for more precision on the full size rifles. Can those of you that have experience with the Trijicon, Ameriglo, or Meprolite products on the AK give me your impressions? I used to run Meps only on my Glocks because they seemed easier to pick out for me than Trijicons. I would probably go with them in this scenario but I've seen quite a few comments from people online concerning the Mep front sight being very loose. These are goto rifles and they need to be 100% able to endure whatever chance my throw at them. Any intel would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have used the Meprolights before. The front site post will move under recoil at least it did in my Arsenal. Nothing a little Loctite will not fix. I got them mainly
because of the wider aperture and windage adjustments. The tritium was very bright; however they sent me the 1000m sight instead of the 800m.
When I looked down the sights I would get two apertures; the actual one and the groove down the center of the sight created another one. It would not go away until
I cranked the sight up to 800m! I realize I had the wrong size, but am wondering if I would have gotten some of the same affect with the 800m site since I had to crank the 1000m up so
far to make it go away. Nice quality I really wanted them to work for me but they did not so I sold them and put the stock sites back on. Maybe if you get the correct size you will not have
the same dual aperture problem I had.

I like my Mepros, they are a big step up from the standard sights they replaced on one of my Romy Gs.  They are bright as hell and precise enough for me.  I also use blue Loctite to keep the front sight from turning.  As delivered it's quite loose and susceptible to turning while firing without the Loctite.  I bought mine on sale for $70 and they are worth every penny to me.
