do you bother to show clear during cease fire. how do you do it as I can't seem to find any chamber flags in my area.

Clear chamber, hold bolt back, hold trigger, release bolt. Bolt will stay locked back.

+1 on that. Sometimes, some ranges actually want the bolt back and be able to "see it" back. Spent brass works will to let them see a bit inside.

I have a lot of Yugo BHO mags. I make a point of using them at ranges that have such a policy.

I shoot at a DNR range and the RO walks and checks everyone always. I put a spent case in it then have to pull it out and show him it's clear. I seen one guy put a small notch in his selector to hold it open.

I instantly thought shell casing so thanks for the reaffirmation. Although I like what the guy did with the selector maybe I'll look into it myself

You could use a chunk of 1x2 painted orange. Or the chamber flags that surplus stuff from Century comes with.

I don't bother.

I went to lowe's and got a 3-foot dowel, 1" diameter, and a can of blaze orange Krylon.

cut up some 3-inch sections of dowel, then painted them orange. works great, cheap as hell.

best of both worlds.

Orange flag is mandatory in the chamber on a cold line. If you don't have it you don't shoot there. It's the only outdoor range in my area & is state run. No rapid fire either. REALLY sucks!!!
But I have the BHO mags as well, & even then you still have to have the flag in the chamber.

At Impactzone just outside Houston we can double tap and mag dump, just no bumpfiring. Full auto and suppressors are common and the place is private, so as long as you handle yourself appropriately there's no hassles.

Just tell every one to get a spotting scope and keep shooting.
I hate people that shoot three rounds and wont a cold range so they can go look at it
to see how bad they shot.
