Mag wobble, good or bad? Is a little Mag wobble good for reliability, or should the Mag lock in tighter than a bulls ass? Which is best?

Lateral play in the magazine is inherent in the design of the AK.
It is possible to fit a receiver to a particular magazine so there's almost no movement (when building from a flat or blank) but changing magazines will be difficult and some magazines won't insert properly.

Some clearance is good for fast, dependable mag changes. Also, don't evaluate magazine fit with empty mags - use fully-loaded ones. After all, why would you be concerned that an empty mag wobbles/rattles in the gun? The loaded mag forces the top round into contact with the closed bolt, putting magazine spring tension on the mag catch, which usually takes out most of the wobble.

Huge +1.

Take an AK to a carbine course with a tight mag well and tell me how well it works out for you.

+1 I find a huge difference in wobble between a loaded magazine and an unloaded magazine. Also some of my mid priced AKs have more wobble than my low end AKs.
