| Im looking for a new toy and not sure if I go for a third 7.62 or if I take a trip to the 5.45 side. Most 74s I've seen are more than what I'm wanting to spend and the SAR2s are about the only 5.45s that I'm willing to entertain price wise but not sure if we're talking the same questionable quality of the SAR-1s. All help is appreciated! Thanks. |
| I personally have not seen any real problems with them myself, but it seems that the idea of canted sights, trigger slap, etc. is brought up on a pretty regular basis. Specifically people selling them and saying that there's doesn't have those problems like "others do". That simply made me wonder if SAR-2s had any quality issues. |

Its a Romy that can have the same Romy issues as the others.
G2 = no trigger slap The biggest issue to me would be having a muzzle brake. Some SARs have been upgraded, some have not. Quality issues? I refinished a friend's that had cracks in his rivets, safety selector did not align perfectly w/ the dust cover, FSB issues, ruff ass looking bolt carrier/other parts, and a god awful finish. Honestly, i would LOVE to own his rifle If your looking for an Arsenal, buy an Arsenal. SAR1 = SAR2 Its one of the BEST romy rifles you can own |

SAR 2s have been the best deal for factory 5.45 rifles for quite awhile. They are a hodge podge of factory parts, pretty much what ever was laying on the surplus/over run shelves in Romania. If you ever get a chance to compare a factory Romanian rifle with a Bulgarian, the first thing you will notice is that the Romys didn't give a damn about finish work or proper alignment. Romy AKs have the most sharp edges on a firearm I have ever seen. As far as the sight cant issue, all producers of military AKs have pumped out canted sights, that includes Bulgaria and Soviet Union. Minor FSB cant is pretty normal and in my opinion should not be made out to be an issue. I have two SAR 2s and a decent selection of other 5.45 AKs, the SAR 2s are right up there on my favorites list. |

My sar-2 has been reliable and accurate for the sights. No sight cant or rivet problems
I did have trigger slap which was easy to fix with a G2 trigger group I like mine and it will take any mags unlike the bulgarians which tend to be tight and will not take east german mags |

SAR2s have a dimple, yours does NOT. u have a wasr2?
