Are all gas blocks for AK 47s basically the same?
I'm wanting to get one with a bayonet lug but I was wondering what all is fair game?

For example, would a Yugo, or Chinese one work on a Romanian barrell?

Actually, neither of those would work. Both Yugos and Chinese rifles have slightly thicker barrels.

Assuming you have a WASR, most AKM gas blocks should fit.

Russian, Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, and Egyptian AKM style blocks should fit on the rifle to the best of my knowledge. I was under the impression that AK/AKM blocks had their ports drilled after they were installed, if that's true you may run into port alignment issues, but I'd imagine they're all pretty close.

I've changed out a few on Romanian SARs and Hungarian SA-85Ms.  Just from my own experience you can get Romanian ones from Apex the last I looked and they will fit on a WASR in 7.62x39.  You may have to ream the holes once installed with a bit.

Though the ad says they are missing the pins etc., when I got mine and the last person I helped got his they came complete.
