My Wasr has the rear sling mount on the bottom of the stock  (pic) and the sling (pic) is too short to be comfortable (shorter than the sling in that picture.  If the rifle is resting on the sling, it will attempt to flip itself upside down (magwell pointed to the sky) and if it has no magazine it will succeed.   Will getting a longer sling help at all?  Perhaps a longer sling which clips to both sling mounts, instead of only the front mount? Is the only resolution to use a side mounted rear sling mount?  (pic)  Can another sling mount even be added to the Wasr stock, or would I need to purchase a new stock? I was hoping people with more experience than myself would know the correct answer before I spend money trying to find it.

Thanks for the help.

resolve your issue and go with a 3 point, or get the wire side folder. Side folder may not work b/c the swivel is on the left....you wouldn't happen to left handed would you?

Are you trying to use the sling to carry the rifle in the "assault" position (horizontally) with the sling over the weak side shoulder?
If so, you must buy or make an attachment that allows the sling to attach to the top of the stock.
550 cord tied to both sides of the sling swivel and long enough to pass over the top of the stock will work.

I'm a right handed shooter, and that's exactly what I'm trying to do.  So it sounds like the only real solution is to change position of the rear sling mount.  Thanks for helping out.

you can buy an attachment made of nylon webbing that allows you to attach the sling at the top of the stock, or you can go with the WECSOG solution - 550 cord.
