Appearantly he has an axe to grind and takes every oppertunity here to poke at me. The following is my side of the situation.
We charged Mr Haans card and had a ONE week delay in shipping. He stated I could not charge his card till the item was shipped. We can require payment at any time and we do not even require a deposit and his card was charge the day he was contacted. He was quoted 275.00 for a standard M92 pistol build. He sent an Armory USA receiver with the selector notches in front of the center support rivet which is AKM style. I had to weld those up and recut them behind the support rivet, Yugo style. We usually charge 50.00 just to do that. In fairness I only charged 25.00. The final build price was 300.00 plus shipping. The large blow up was when I did not send the following back with the completed pistol: The FULL AUTO sear trip and spring. This is common. I know of no other smith that sends full auto parts back with the semi-auto they fit in. I refused to return those parts without authorization from the ATF. Which I finally received and the parts were sent back. During this time he files a claim with American Express disputing the charge to his card. As far as any problems with the finish this is the first we have been told of it. I really don't know how we could coat one part of the peice and not coat others. Mr Haan caused me several problems over this without trying to be civil first. As far as his ban at the AK Forum I used no influence! I am one of the owners and banned him myself. Thanks, Troy Sellars IN RANGE inc. |

I agree with you Troy
I would not set myself up an audit or investigation for mailing out Class 3 parts - even though they might be just that -parts. If you did mail back the C3 parts with a semi kit build - I'm sure some moron would think that you are enabling end users to assemble an illegal weapons. This is not a good time to be under the scrutiny of the ATF ... or any Fed agency. But I also think Troy that maybe you should (if you do not already) let people know that C3 parts will not be returned on completed kit builds without proper ATF paperwork. This might allevaite confusion, problems or frustrations with the mentally inept. If he is pissed about the shipping delay - Oh well.. you have to wait sometimes for good work..no big deal |

Thanks, Troy Sellars IN RANGE inc. I suppose many will rally to your side, Ive seen this kind of thing happen before. Some of this is correct, however initialy I was told to send the kit in 1 month useing the receiver mentioned by Troy, as an option. Nothing was said about more worked being needed. After I got the receiver and let you know, you said 3 months plus. It was sent back apx. 1 week after i was told 3+ months. There realy never was any real blowup by me, just wanted either the parts or compensation for their value which you neglected to mention. That when Troy didnt like it so much. After a couple of emails and not wanting to drag it on I indicated I would leave it up to my credit card company and him to sort it out. Made no differnce to me, just wanted to have either the parts or there comparble cost returned. You sent the parts after I filed the claim. As far as the ATF saying yes to him I dont know, but they never returned my call about the inquiry. As far as the finish, how could I possibley trust you to with the kit or parts after your respones of the " I will have the ATF pounding on your door," " Dont send me anything again"...... Realy now, would you send it back? You ( Troy ) I feel have a tendency to mislead with your words and will say what whatever it is to look like you were in the right. I attempted to be civil the whole time. Review your emails, I wonder if you need medication the way you seemed to snap. I dont think your as honest as you want everyone to think you are. This is good this comes out. Certainly doesnt change my experience, the timeline, emails, or the way I feel about you. If playing nice with others means getting misleading information, paying more then was told for no reason and saying nothing, then playing nice just doesnt right to me. Often times there are consequences for going against the flow and speaking up. |
