| My friend just picked up a tantal 2day. Under $700. Its built on a DC industries reciever. Fit is AMAZING! The action is tighter than my ar action! The problem is the finish. It was beautiful until we started handling it, where the sling is hooked on is wearing off already and its coming off with a fingernail. Also as we cleaned it it started coming off. Its not spray paint (too smooth and a little tougher than that) so what is it? He's gonna just stip it and duracoat it. It will be more durable than this right? also the left side selector wont budge. Does it just need broken in? Using the lever is tight but easily managable(not to mention the extra leverage it provides). Thanx all. |

The left side selector is for semi-burst-auto.
Since you can't have burst or auto, the selector is just there for cosmetics. People mount them 1 of 2 ways-either it can be rotated independently of the safety lever on the opposite side, or welded to the safety lever where they meet inside the receiver. I bet yours was welded to the safety lever. Does it move with the safety lever? |

On the Galil that's just added so you you can manipulate the selector lever without moving your hand away from the shooting position. It's different on the tantals?
My selector lever was stiff when I got it. I just pried it away from the receiver a little at a time until it didn't take a hammer to manipulate. |
