That's a post-ban Norinco NHM-91, not a "National Match" which is what Polytech calls its long-barreled pre-ban rifle.  I think the seller is a little confused while trying to ID the rifle or is trying to hook someone not knowing into buying it.

You can see some better photos of what a Norinco NHM-91 looks like here:

heavy barrel does not mean match barrel, although advertisers often pretend it is.

also, some guns like belgium fals were marked ".308 Match" because then its a civilian rifle, while marked 7.62 NATO would make it prohibited as a military caliber in some juristictions.

The words "National Match" and AK47/74 do not belong in the same sentence.

I have seen a few 386 milled polytech's that were imported to National Match.  I had a jackass at a funshow tell me its worth more because its "National Match".  Laughed in his face

They definately do exist - agian, the Polytech Legend National Match on the milled receiver.  Believe it or not, they used to be about $200 more expensive than the Polytech Legend milled receiver rifle when both were found new in the box.  Now, it's kind of flip-flopped.

What exactly does "National Match" mean, and were any of these rifles ever actually used in the "National Match"?? Did they win?

BTW - what exactly is "match grade" anyway?

Same as CAI, Interarms....  That is the Company the rifle was Imported to.  Basically, they received a high volume of Chinese AKs.  I do not believe they modified the rifles at all, other than placing their name on them.

match grade = near perfect barrel, that will provide excellent accuracy and groups.  Some report nearly no uniformity thru out the entire barrel.

I have an NHM-91 and it's not a match rifle. I think the match label and 20" barrel was added to the MAK90 as a way to make them more PC during the assault rifle ban. I might be wrong about that.

The best I ever shot was 2"ish group with silver bear "effect" ammo at 75 yards. My NHM really loved that stuff. To bad they don't make it any more . I can't get better than 3" with wolf, most with wolf is about 4".

Either way it makes a good deer rifle and if you add a scope mount you could make it look somewhat like a Tabuk.

I havent tried my NHM-91 for groups yet, but i will soon.  My friend's Yugo m72 surprised me w/ 1in groups @ 100yrs (1moa) with wolf.  That was the 1st and only time he shot it too.

Silver Bear  they also have SP.

I thought the AW ban thing might have something to do with it too - kindof like the SPAS (Sporting-Purposes Automatic Shotgun)

I'm finishing one now that I put a scope mount and a PSO 4x on - mostly because I think the bipod is a disaster.  The hard part was welding on a cleaning rod holder on the gas block and the FSB, I just don't care for an empty hole.  Of course, the hardest part is welding two cleaning rods together to make one long enough - or rather - its easy to weld together - its hard to weld together STRAIGHT

Yeah I had the same issue with the bipod. The only use I found for it was a weight to keep the barrel down. The stock wasnt that much better so I changed it out for a Choat drag stock.

This is what it looks like now
