I am interested in looking for a new trigger to lessen an issue i have. With my Tapco G2 the trigger pull feels pretty good but once you shoot it and release the trigger you get a very noticable pop. I thought trigger slap was a different feel but it may be my issue. My understanding was triggerslap was a disconnector issue though and was a more sharp uncomfortable feel. Basically what is happening is the hammer releasing from the disconnector and being caught by the trigger hook just as they should. I6ts not painful but just feels odd. I dont know why it bothers me but it does. It just seems like they could have made the hook closer so the catch was a little closer to the disconnector when it releases. That should make the feeling less noticable.
Would the RSA trigger be a worthwhile buy to make this less noticable? I know overall its a better trigger group but if ill have the same issue id prefer to keep what i have. What do yall think about this? Are there any other options or modifications i could do?
On a unrelated side note do any of you get a sharp almost pinch or needle prick feeling on your cheak with a fixed synthetic stock when you shoot? Do you know what causes it or how to prevent it? I was thinking it may be the carrier hitting the rear trunion but dont have anything to back that up. I had a buffer in there but it led to function issues so its out now. Thanks for any help. |

As told to me by clange
"It's normal for there to be a click as the hammer slides off the disconnector and is caught by the trigger." Sounds like the design makes for a loud reset, don't know if a different trigger would fix this. Still a lot quieter than a round going off If you look around there was a thread about getting smacked in the cheek by the AK. They where suspicious about the slanted muzzle break. I don't know if your rifle is equip but you might try it without. Did you still get smacked when you had the recoil buffer in? If you did then I wouldn't think it would be the carrier. How tight is your cheek weld? |

Take off the dust cover and remove the charging handle. Look down and you will see
the hammer. Let the hammer up with your thumb while pulling the trigger. Don’t release the trigger and push the hammer back down. You will see it click into place under a catch. This action is normally performed by the bolt sliding back after a round is fired. Now, remove your thumb from the hammer and then release the trigger. “click”. that is what your hearing. You can see happen what Jonnyghost had described. Do it a couple of times and watch the mechanics of it all! Cool huh? Simple and effective. |

If the rifle is operating as designed, the carrier does not strike the stock block at all. Hold the stock tight to your shoulder. Hold your cheek tight to the stock. Your problem will be solved and your shooting will improve as well. |
