Came across a Maadi AKM imported by ACC/Intrac. It appears post-ban because the bayo lug was ground down and there is no muzzle device

Only other markings is a weird circle with "54" in it.

Finish is OK, but I'ce seen better.

Guy is looking to sell it for $500. Should I pass or consider it?

Hard to say considering the current environment and prices on stuff.  Before the election, I woould've said you might find one a bit cheaper than that.  But right now, that's probably not a terribly bad deal.  Especially if you can simply pick it up from the seller and you've seen it already.

Unfortunately there are few options regarding the turned-down muzzle but you can build-up the bayonet lug.  The Maadi's do mak a great Russian clone project.

I agree with Rayman.  In this panic buying climate, $500 for an Intrac Maadi doesn't sound too unreasonable.

Yes, it is a post-ban.  If it was a pre ban, it'd be selling for $1300+.  I'm guessing that it has a muzzle cap tack welded on.  The Intracs should have threads under the muzzle cap so if you remove the welds, you can add a regular slanted muzzle brake to it.

Didn't have a muzzle cap, but the end of the barrel didn't look threaded. Also wondering about that symbol with 54 inside of it.

$500 seems abit high, but then again most people have no AK's in stock and I think it'll be a while before prices normalize again.
