New to the forums...just wanting to say hi and wanted to see if someone might be able to help.

I want to wrap my German wire folder stock with paracord to improver the cheek weld but have little experience with paracord and surprisingly enough can't find much on the web on using it to wrap a stock.  Has anyone done this and could post pics and a simple how to?

Thanks

Try a search on "550" in the AK forums.  There have been a couple how to threads on wrapping in 550 cord.

Para cord does very little to improve cheek weld. It is just not thick enough. Vinyl tubing is better.

Thanks for the link....this is giving me a couple of options.

I've thought about the tubing as well....afraid it may look a little "bubba" though.

There is nothing bubba about the tubing if it is done right. It looks even better in person. The cheek weld is very good.

That doesn't look bad at all...I hang my head in shame for thinking tubing would look bubba, I was honestly thinking it would look like plumbing insulation.   Where did you pick up the tubing and what kind/size?  Is it a wrap?

You can use whatever size tubing that fits your needs.
