Here's the result of a parawrap that came undone after a year of heavy use.

And also as a result of not knowing how to parawrap

This the way you guys did it?

I'm gonna have to find some black paracord. I called my local funshop; they said yeah, we've got it ... I drove across town and of course they DIDN'T have it ... bastards ...

I totally don't need the padding, or the cheek weld, etc ... I'm just bored and I think it would look kinda cool.

Thanks for the lesson Dixie.  I remember that wrap from my old Boy Scout days...

Any clues as to how may feet of paracord are required to wrap one side of an underfolder stock?

Hi guys,

This is my first post at ARFCOM (FINALLY got a non anonymous email address for registration).  I am personally a BIG FAN of paracord with firearms.  Here are some pics of my paracord work on my WASR 10/63, including my stock wrap/cheek weld and my own version of magpuls, which I personally find superior to the commercial product we all love.

http://www.operatorchan.org/arch/res/1256.html

Unfortunately, I'm running on about 25 hours of being awake and really need sleep.  Follow the link and scroll about 1/3 of the way down for the start of the how to on paracord magpuls for AK's.

Enjoy

For triangle folders, the tourniquet wrap is awesome. Very comfortable and hey....it's a tourniquet :)

For the Stock wrap follow these instructions..

You'll need aprox. 20' of Paracord..

I then decided to try something completely different..
I took a 1/4" thick piece of Neoprene and wrapped in flat paracord...
Nice cushiony cheek weld...

I used to do that too. Now I just gut the paracord, tie it in a loop and pass it around the magazine spring retainer and put it through the hole in the floor plate. That eliminates the problem with the tape coming loose.
I wish I could say I thought it up myself.

I wrapped mine just enough to make a cheek weld spot and I also wrapped the butt plate to keep it from slipping when up against my shoulder. It works well.

First one is my Yugo , second one is my AMD65. i double wrapped it. I started at the receiver end and wrapped back to the butt then around the butt and back toward the receiver.

atjax, can you explain or show how you did your wrap and tie on the butt plate ? I tried to do this but it didn't turn out well. I couldn't get the wraps to line up right and even if I came somewhat close I didn't know how to start the wrap or finish the tie off so it wasn't loose.

Thanks for any help.
