probably because you fondle it the most, and then put it back in the safe without cleaning your oily prints off of it  seriously the Vector finish is ok, not the greatest its probably just a quick park job......there rifles are some of the best, but the finish was always sub par......I had the same issue with mine, I finally just sent it out and had it refinished in moly resin.....no issues ever since. Also make sure you have some desi packs in the safe
