Were any kits or rifles imported? I know very little about them. Thanks in advance/

It wasn't imported and probably won't be, though I heard over on the AK forum that someone or some organization had a training type replica, I think available here in the US.

no kits were imported. I believe one example was brought in for intelligence use.

It's a very interesting rifle, probably the coolest thing I have ever fired, but the human engineering on it isn't that great....

Kinda cool, but it would not be much fun in semi-only, as much of its innovative coolness is centered on the super-fast rate of fire for the first 2 rounds.

How about a visual and specs!!

That's what I was thinking, can you even shoot it with the stock folded?

Holy crap, I had no idea how many small parts that thing uses.

I wish they were available for purchase here(w/2 shot burst mode).

Yes. Complex internals. For example: there is a pulley and steel cable that links the bolt carrier to a cartridge ram assembly. As the carrier moves rearward, it pulls the cable that in turns pulls the ram assembly forward from behind the magazine to strip a cartridge and position it into a feedway leading to the chamber. The operating spring pushes the carrier forward finishing the loading of the stripped cartridge. The ram assembly returns to its original position via its own spring.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what the assembly under the barrel does. I read on guns.ru that it is a mount for the grenade launcher but the CAD diagram seems to suggest to me an implementation of the "balanced gas system" used in another Russian prototype rifle. It would make sense for a rifle with a touted ROF of 1800rpm.

IIRC, the barrel is free to recoil on it's own, so the assembly underneath the barrel must be the return spring for the barrel.

What a rat maze that thing is!

It apears the engineers read the memo to develop a new weapon as, "Complicated, many moving parts, all new ideas, think outside the box, think outside the planet. Remember to over complicate when ever possible"

where did you find that cutaway pic?

Yes you can fire it with the stock folded.

The gun actually comes apart fairly easily.

Handling wise, the selector is poorly designed and difficult to operate, and the mag
is awkward to change with your left hand. Plus the pistol grip feels a bit funky as its just
a recyled AK piece stuffed onto it.

Its also fairly heavy at 9+ pounds with all the weight out front.

Its interesting and all, but some well versed engineers have opined it was a dead end
rabbit hole they wanted us to delve down, while they did relatively little with.

Yes its cool, but I would not pick it over a good M4

nobody mentions it has a polymer receiver either....

I would take an AK over that any day.
