Local guy has the solid wood stock Romanian WASR's with the 30 round mag, bayo lug and bayo for $480.  Is this a decent price?  TIA

yeah that seems a little high but keep in mind that these rifles are not getting any easier to get....especially quality ones without the usual canted sights and mag wobble.  Even though 480 is high, i have seen prices like this more and more latley.  The days of the under $300 WASR are gone i'm afraid....the best deal i've seen recently is WASR 10 hi-cap's on sale at Dunhams here in Michigan for $350, but you have to look over as many as possible 'cause most are all fucked up... so use your own discretion on your potential purchase

You can get a very good WASR-10 from Henderson Defense for $419 + shipping which amounts to ~$439 all said and done. If you can find someone to do the transfer for cheap you can walk out of that one ahead of the game. Keep in mind the Henderson comes with all the accessories too, bayonet, mag pouch, mag, in-stock cleaning kit, etc when comparing complete costs.

You can still find the dimpled variants for around that price. I wouldn't personally own a WASR but for a truck gun perhaps.

Wow. I've been away from this forum and the AK market (in general) for a good while. WASR's for $400+ ??!!
Seems like not long ago, some people were "bad mouthing" WASR "trash" . . . just like the MAK 90's of the early 1990's period.
Guess everything is going up.
