Probably been covered, but can you easily convert a WASR-10 Lo-Cap to a hi cap? I have never seen one but I am thinking with a dremel tool you can open up the receiver. If so is it hard to do? Thanks! |

Thanks. It's just going to be a beater AK. Trying to go the cheapest route I can for a complete AK. I guess once I find a low cap and receive it I'll check if it has the 922 parts in it or not. I am by no means the AK expert, just want to make sure I am compliant. Being an FFL/SOT I can't take any chances on the 922 thing, too much to lose. I don't even know if Century has the low caps in stock or not. Their website is never up to date. Guess I'll find out tomorrow and give them a call. |
If you get one from Henderson Defense, they have the compliance parts in them already. All you gotta do is dremel out the magwell. |

When I bought my first AK (never having seen one before) I didn't realize it was a lo-cap as there was no mag with it. Once I bought it and realized it wasn't the standard, I bought a dremel tool and got to work. Even just eyeballing another AK and 'guestimating' where I should cut, I was able to widen the mag well and had no problems at all - even as a first time dremel user. I did replace the neccesary number of parts with US made so it would be compliant. |
