From what I hear, these kits are drying up fast. And rifles that some of this kits are also drying up. Will anymore kits be imported in the future? Id love another 74( Sold m last one ) Also, does anyone still sell magazines for them? Kvar only has the OD green ones. Cheaper than dirt has none. The only thing out there is ammo.

Thanks in advance guys

there is a big (approx. 10k) shipment scheduled to come into the country next month. Barrels will be cut and replaced with a US made barrel. Prices are quite reasonable considering the new barrel is included and has the gasblock and front sight installed. The ones with original barrels have certainly just about dried up though.

That's depressing. I actually enjoyed my CAI Tantal. But the lack of a chromelined bbl bothered me since I bought that rifle to put a significant amount of rounds through. Do you know what country of origin these kits are from.

Actually, they are supposed to be chrome lined US barrels. The kits are Bulgarian.

That's excellent. How much will they cost initially?

I think DPH had a preorder price of 350.  If you want a bulgarian barrel Copes has bunch of them for 99.00.  But if the hardware is already installed on them and they are chrome-lined as well as being 5.45 barrels then whats the point.

Word on the street is that the 5.45 Saiga is suppose to be coming end of the year, early next year.

Wilson is supposed to be the source for the barrels. I am curious to see
these. I know they make a lot of barrels for the 5.56/223 AR rifles. I too
understand they will be chrome lined.

If they are a true 5.45 barrel, it should be a nice kit. I would also
think some mags would be comming in with these, or soon before/after.
