Okay.....I just came home with my brand new Russian Red Lancaster AKM.  I cannot for the life of me get the dust cover off.  I've pushed again and again on the button and lifting with no luck.  As this is brand new and I haven't even fired it yet, I don't want to mess it up trying to get this thing off.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Get like a bic pen with a rounded top(not the tip of the pen the other side) and push.

You have to twist it a bit to the right and push the driving spring guide or the take down button..
