| I want to purchase an ak-74 rifle from a reputable company. I am looking for something plum with folding stock.$900 to $1200 range .Does a company like krebs or ak usa for example have a huge waiting list. I dont know know much about henderson or there backlog, Any help or advice on desirable features or builders would be appreciated. I have a century tantal and I want something quality this time around. Something like my colt 6920. Yes I drink the koolaid but want to change the flavor to plum. Thanks in advance. Linetech1 |
PM Greg at Henderson Defense or call AKUSA(Chris) or ORF they all do great work. I would read up on the forums and see what has been said about the different builders. Look for warranty, customer service, quality of paint and parts. Just cause its factory doesn't mean it is the best.

| My Henderson Defense AKS-74 was a great deal at $750. Very well built. I have seen several SLR105's and can't see any reason to get the Arsenal, just to chop it up. Aresenal's finish is notoriously crappy (paint likes to come off the receivers with minimal use). It would end up costing twice what many builders have out there new, and you get a better finish IMHO with Henderson. |
I too am looking to purchase an AK-74, But they are on backorder EVERWHERE, unless of course you want a Century Polish Tantal that keyholes, those are available EVERYWHERE! (Wonder why? LOL) ORF is about 1-1/2 month backlog, If you order now, they are saying end of september. Henderson Defense doesn't have any fixed stocks, I don't know what their current turn around time is for their Folding stocks? You'd have to call em. I personally don't want a folding stock, so Henderson is out all together for me. I've been trying to find an AK-74 for about 3 months now, I'm still looking.. Pretty soon, I'm going to end up just ordering from ORF and waiting, which I really HATE to do, I don't like to wait. -ThaChad |
