Hello all!

My first post on the AK side. I've shot several AK's, but never owned. I've always been a fan, and i'm looking at getting as close to a "classic" looking AK-47 style gun that i can (sans the happy switch). I like the look of traditional AK's, but i'm open to other ideas. I know next to nothing about brands, quality, etc, but i want something that will be reliable and accurate. Not considering a certain price, but i'd pay more for something that is better quality even though this will mainly be a fun gun. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

We get several of these a week, see runnign threads, and AK Quality in Reference, then narrow it down

Consider the Mak-90, bulgarian SSR-85 or a Vector. Expect to pay about 600 for a good gun.

Stay away from machined receivers, go with stamped because they are not worth the price hike (arguable).  All AK's can be modified to look like originals (true AK's are russian AK's, they are especially rare and highly sought after), most come with plastic furniture that can be changed over to wood.

Otherwise do lots of research and study, and searches.

I have a Vector Uzi. Based on that firearm I would recommend their AKs.

Do a lot of reading first, then ask questions. You will know more and will be able to ask better and more specific questions.
