Please don't flame me, I'm an AR guy tip toeing in the dark side... Are AK stocks interchangeable like HK-91s? In other words, if I buy an under folder can I easily change it to a fixed stock or a side folder? I'm just about to pull the trigger (very punny), so advice and expertise is welcome. Sorry for the noob question, I spent maybe... 10 minutes seaching. I should have done better. Kerry |
| Welcome.... the answer depends on what type of folder you're looking at. Some AKs have thicker metal used in the reciever 1 mm on most Euro bloc guns except the Yugo, the chinese and yugo use recievers that 1.5 mm thick. Which can cause issues for a direct stock swap. Underfolders are usually going thru the reciever itself and have their own stlye rear trunnion that is closed at rear. Some side folders can be swapped back and forth with little effort to a fixed stock. Hope this helps. |
