My dad has a like new .223 polytech ak underfolder w/ spike bayonet and was curious what the value of this gun is. The serial number appears to be low (under 100). He has 3 30 rd mags. and I found them on gunbroker for around 165 each. This made us curious about the rifle. Let me know.

if gun is NIB, I'd say 1200-1400 currently. I've seen 2 USED at gunshows within the last 3 weeks in the $900 ballpark, not selling. You are correct on the mags, they are rare and expensive. I'd put the total package of gun + 3 polytech mags at $1800-2000.

You may want to do some further research on it....IIRC some of the early .223 had issues with function due to gas port size which was worked out a little later in production.I believe there is some info. on it in the book on AKs by Duncan Long.
