| I was watching a show on CNN today and they were talking about a murder & how we need MORE gun control.... no big surprise. However they use the uzi sub gun and the ak-47 as examples. That realy pissed me off till no end, I cant remember the last crime i heard of where the uzi was used.My point is mainly to vent, but the crime that i was watching the man used a pump shotgun and he was mentaly ill, lied on the 4476 form. My point is if he use a shotgun what the hell has that have to due with machineguns. Mainly I ask all of you why is it the gun gets blammed and not the person that used it. Come on now lots of things get used to kill people why dont they pick on pools, knifes, cars, ect. they can be just as deadly in the wrong hands. Are you all getting as pissed off as I am when you see crap like this broadcast from reporter that aparently dont realy know shit on what they are speaking of???? |
My G/F ALWAYS says "Well Cars, Pools, Hatchets, etc arent DESIGNED to kill, and guns are" Its a tough argument :D As for the rest of the story, its CNN, and they are completely full of crap |

Every time i read or hear about gun control,, i get this mental picture of 1880's Tombstone or Dodge City. I picture a womens Temperance Group marching up the street holding up signs about Demon Rum and the horrendious 5 cent glass of beer.A squeaky Brass Band is playing in the background. Or midnight herds of AK's Mac 10's and Uzi's roaming our streets. To Quote a Quote that has been beaten to death ,,, " Once they take our guns,,Only the Criminals will have Guns" . |

"Hatchets arent DESIGNED to kill" Horse shit they are not! How many "battle axes" were made to kill same damn thing! if not then all i need do is make a fully auto rifle that comes in pink and designed for target shooting not killing and therefore my gun was not designed for killing was it! lots of things started out as weapons designed to kill BOWS AND ARROWS KNIVES SPEARS AXES etc etc etc! none of which get faced with stupid laws. And cars not designed to kill hmm I dunno I reakon they probably were someones secret war weapon. |
That's because you and I both know that it's extremely personal when you're going against someone with a knife. Rifles allow you to stand off at a distance and never really look your enemy in the eye. Knife to knife, you get to see and know your enemy point blank. |

People have been killing each other since the begining of time using what ever means available,rocks,knifes,crosses,swords....you name it. You would think that people and polititians would figure that out by now. Its just too easy to put the blame on the gun because society has taught the majority of sheeple, that they are bad. Society has also taught the majority of people to have no self responsiblity and that it is never "my" fault... its always somebody elses fault or something elses fault. |

Its really odd that anti gun people just don't get it. I wonder, IF they were willing to go in with an open mind, and that is a big if, if they would get anything like a new understanding from something like FrontSight or the other assorted schools of that nature. Seems various countries in Africa have plenty of guns but they so very often horribly mutilate women and children with machetes. And what happens when you get really tight gun control? Take the UK. Besides the old saw "only criminals have guns" something else happens. I swear I read this is the past year or so. Some horrendous crime took place with the perp using a knife as his weapon. Government reaction? Talk of BANNING large knives! After all you don't really NEED a kitchen knife that large do you? I wonder when they will get around to cricket bats and rocks. Cheers, RWB64 |

Actually, in the whole of mankind, the only device designed solely for the use of killing humans was the sword. No other purpose - in agriculture, hunting, or so forth. Other military weapons - battleax and such- were created from other tools. Granted, anyone bent on killing someone else will find a way. Just look at prisons and the inmates illegal weapons. That's why Texas banned serving porkchops in the prisons. |
That is not a valid analogy. A fork is designed for eating, what is a gun designed for? Thats where the disconnect is between the anti gun and the responible gun lovers. A gun is designed for killing. Animals, humans, whatever. Even a knife's primary purpose by far is to eat with :D However, i find it odd that throwing knives and swords are legal, since they serve NO sporting purpose, while guns do :D |
Welcome to the world that is the hypocrisy of the liberal anti gunner... Hopefully when push comes to shove there will be more of "us" than "them"... |
At least When push comes to shove, we will have the guns and they wont har har har. |
I know what you mean. The news will show a story of someone being shot by a glock with the serial numbers filed off, and then tell you that this would have NEVER have happend had we only banned pistol grips on semi-auto's. Assault weapons are completely irrelevant to gun crime. |
| Amen to people killing each other for years. It won't change. Look at England. Total ban on firearms. Does that stop paople? Nope! Now they are killing each other with knives. So whats next a ban on knives? Gun control nuts can't figure it out. You can't change humans nature. If some wack job takes it in his head to attack you, he's gonna use whatever is at hand. |

The response I normally use for the "But guns are designed to kill" mentality is this: Guns are not designed to kill. They are designed to expel a small chunk of metal at very high velocities. Guns (or anything else for that matter) don't have a purpose on their own. What a person does with a gun (or anything else for that matter) is what determines the purpose. |

You know, I've met some liberals who liked guns and didn't see the need for gun control. Black and white views work fine until you get grey on your shoes. This whole thing stems from people wanting quick and easy answers. There are huge sociological factors at work. It's not terribly popular to blame poor, stupid, vicious people for violent crime but that's who tends to do it in my experience. Why not blame the tools? Makes it nice and palatable for middle class stupids to rest easy and a nice tidy cause for upper class stupids to rally behind. Let's ban the guns and pour more money on the problem! When what we really need to do is make a better American Citizen. One who understands how to figure interest rates on loans, what they mean, how to budget for grocery money, remembers to use condoms and how to take some fucking responsibility for their own actions. |
I politely disagree. guns are designed to kill people. some people need killing. proper respect and understanding of all tools prior to use is necessary to prevent accidents, mishaps, and errors in judgement. |
