In the process of buying my first AK! Like every gun I buy, I will probably be purchasing it off of the E.E. and I'd since the only AK i've ever owned is a Saiga-12 I would like some advice from the AK hive!

All I really know is that i'm not looking for a WASR. I want it to be in the 7.62X39 and I'm partial to underfolders! I like the looks of the Yugo underfolder with the black Tapco-esq stock but I've heard conflicting reports from the Century builds. I know this is a lot to ask for but could anyone give me a rundown and some good recommendations as for price, availability, and make? I want to make an educated decision when I buy my AK! My Price range is probably around 500.00 give or a take! and any advice I get will be greatly appreciated!

I've read a good amount on the general discussion but still feel that i'm lacking in knowledge to make my first big purchase. Thanks in advance. Micah

Oh yea, here is a pic of my only AK;

The Century Yugo underfolders are okay rifles. The black plastic furniture is of terrible quality, but it works.

The functioning of these rifles is generally very good. The fit and finish is marginal, but usually acceptable. Expect the front and rear night sights to be blasted out, and the rifles aren't completely disassembled when they're parkerized, leaving some areas (like the gas block where the shutoff rests) appearing only partially finished. The parkerized finish isn't correct for a Yugo, but it's typically smooth and even. Check to make sure the front sight and gas block aren't twisted on the barrel before you buy.
