get a vector.  Don't hassle with a WASR, buy once cry once.

If you are looking to getting into shooting the 5.45 on the cheap I hear they are not bad. Like any wasr it's always best if you can look at them first. J&G had them for $299 for a while.  I almost got one but I decided to go for the bulgarian side folder. What price are you looking at?

For the money you pay for a WASR2, you can stock up on a lot of ammo

All of the WASR2's that I have seen have all ran 100%

I have had two.  First was perfect fit, finish, FSB--but it would not run.  Sent it back and got one not quite as nice w/slightly canted FSB and it has been great.

These were from AIM and I paid $289.95.

One of my favorite guns, you can't go wrong--unless you wnat to spend more money, then you have many choices!

I bought mine from Dunhams in ss configuration for $299.. Was having problems with it feeding from the single stack mags, so i had my gunsmith open it up $40 not a problem since. Like anything else i cant leave anything alone installed a K-VAR Nato length plum set, tapco g2 trigger assembly, & retaining plate. Installed that myself. Ordered the Tapco piston, & ak74 brake, gunsmith will thread & install those. I love the gun shoots great. If you want something cheap then the Wasr2 is hard to beat for the price, just look it over before you buy IMO.

so the $299 ones are single stack?

Yes as far as i know the $299 are ss. Most double stack guns go for $349 & up. Not a problem for most they open them up themselves, me i paid $40 to my gunsmith & you cant tell it was ever opened up. It would probably be cheaper to get the double stack in the long run since it should have at least 5 us parts in it. My Wasr10 came with Tapco G2 Trigger, century piston, & pistol grip, so i believe that is how the double stacks are sold. At the time i could not find a double stack so i bought the ss.

That proves my theory that the Romanians designed their guns to be crooked!

I got a WASR2 to break into 5.45 & compared to my WASR-10 it is more accurate, no question. Had a couple of inherent small glitches that 2 minutes & a dremel fixed. Cleaned up nicely, did the Russian red dye. Lot of fun to shoot.

I picked up my WASR-2 in December for $289…  It runs great and you can’t beat the ammo for the money.
