I've been bitten by the SBR bug.  Anyone try to SBR one of the AMD-65 rifles from Vector?  I was wondering how the extended muzzle breaks were attached and how much work it would be to remove it (legally of coarse).

Vector is making a '65 ? ?

Well . . . a couple of years ago I made a SBR -- based on the '65.

Used a '65 kit and added a Russian side-folder and new Bulgarian black poly furniture.  Paid Uncle Sammy his $200 and was approved in about 100 days.

Muzzle brake is LOUD, but spins right off.  Most often use a AR-15 type bird-cage on mine.  Velocity is still pretty good with Barnaul ammo -- 2,300 FPS 15 feet from the muzzle.

I'd say get one -- they're a HOOT ! ! ! !

I've seen a couple of Vector AMD-65's on Gunbroker.  I haven't decided if I wanted to have one built or just buy one to SBR.  If the ones that Atlantic Friearms sells can be SBR'd without a lot of hassle, I'd be happy to go that way.

If I was going to SBR something I'd go with a krink not an AMD-65.  I have an AMD-65 pistol and they're just not really that short, enough to justify the tax samp.  My krink folded is way smaller than my AMD pistol.
