sick of the thumb hole stock...time to remodel..
should i have local gunsmith reattach lower tang
or go with an  ace folder ...do i have to add a new
trigger group to comply with the Feds?..other?


just wondering....

this has been debated here many times...i vote to have the lower tang installed. some say use the Ironwood stocks that dont require a lower tang but its been my limited experience that the stocks arent as tight  as a lower tang...the SLR95 is one of my very favorite AK's and id tell ya to get compliance parts and turn it back to tradional look/feeel. the ACE folder is nice but just doesnt look right to me on an AK...search the pic files at top of page and you'll see 2 of my 95's converted. money well spent

I'm usually the odd man out on this, but the thumbhole stock on the SLR-95 is one of the only ones that I actually like the feel of.

I'm sure it'd be different if I only had one or two AKs, but I left my SLR-95MB as-is and it's still among my favorite AKs...

Go with the Ironwood stock w/fat checkered pistol grip.
