Hi there, been lurking for a while and the urge to buy the EBGR, evil bad guy rifle, has struck, my question is this, after searching the forums, what manufacturers have chrom lined barrels, I think the Romanians aks do, but not sure. I am not so worried about finish quality, fit and stability is important to me. So aks in this category are appealing to me. Any suggestions would help, I know you field these questions just about everyday, so please slap me later.

Generally, as the above poster said, only Yugoslavian AKs did not have chrome lined barrels originally. Still, since the "barrel import ban", imported parts kits no longer come with their barrels. So some builders (mainly Vector) are using non-chrome lined barrels in builds that would otherwise have them. They can still get you a chrome lined barrel, but it costs more. New-built rifles like WASRs, Arsenals, and SSR-85Cs still have chromed bores. |

Honestly, you may be right. I brought it to my local gun store and they told me before i sold it. Hell my Local gun store has given me shaddy info before, i would take that as a warning from where you buy your next ak. They knew my Vector was made with Bulgarian parts, but couldnt tell me if it was from new or used parts. I still have the Vector and it does have a chrome lined barrel (i checked). |
