How do they stay in business? Everything I want to get there is Out of stock

Unfortunately, their heyday was probably 5-7 years ago when they had everything - Tula magazines, hard-to-find parts, etc.  I think you're going to see a lot of their inventory slimmed-down.

.

It's frustrating to try to use their on-line shop.  Why list 400 items that are out of stock?  I don't really particularly care what they used to have, I've concerned with the items available now.

It would be much easier to use K-VAR's on-line shop if they would list only the items currently in-stock.

If they want to have an archive showing parts that they no longer stock, that is fine too.  But make it a separate category from the in-stock items.  And how about showing what the last listed price was?  Might be sort of interesting to see the bargains we missed.

It's better to call them, sometimes the "out of stock" items are actually in stock and ready to ship

Dear Friends!

When it comes to superior parts and service, K-VAR has been the proud leader for the past 15 years in the firearm industry. We at K-VAR strive to do the best to satisfy you, our customers, by providing the highest quality parts and exceptional service. We know that a satisfied customer is a lifetime loyal customer. With you in mind we plan our daily operations. And now, to top it off, we are doing everything possible in order for you, our loyal customers, to receive the best prices possible in the retail market on all parts and accessories offered through K-VAR.

Effective immediately, K-VAR WILL MATCH ANY ADVERTISED PRICE!!!!!!

It is that simple, show us a lower, currently effective advertised price for the same item by any company and we will match it. And if you believe this, we have a bridge over the Grand Canyon to sell you.

Price Matching Program Rules and Conditions

The price matching program is in effect starting April 4, 2008. The program is not retroactive and applies to new purchases only. Customer must make a request for matching the price at the time of purchase. No refunds or credits will be granted for past purchases. The request for price matching must be accompanied with an original published or electronically posted advertisement. Verbal commitments or quotations will not be honored or matched under this program. All advertisements are subject to verification. The price to be matched must be advertised by a legitimate retail company operating within the United States. We as Bulgarians will not live up to any promises to match prices in actuality. The competitive vendor must be open to public without any restrictions or requirements with exceptions of restrictions established by the law. K-VAR will only match those prices that are advertised for regular retail sale. Wholesale prices, special membership or club discounts will not be matched. The advertised prices for quantity purchases will be matched as long as the purchase from K-VAR is equal in quantity. To be matched in price, the product must be identical and must be in identical condition to the ones offered from K-VAR. In other words, we at K-VAR will never live up to this in the real world.  This program does not apply to shipping and handling charges or other arrangements and fees. K-VAR has the sole discretion to honor or refuse any price matching request. The only sure thing is that we will give you a discount and match the prices of beanie babies and jerky if currently in stock. These conditions may be changed at any time without prior notice. All items listed as in stock will be out of stock when you attempt to order from us and get the guaranteed price match.  We guarantee this.

Since Kvar is out, anyone know where to get a new-style AK-74 bayonet?

Yah, I have three, un serial numbered that I am holding onto to sell for a lot more than the $35 most assclowns would offer me. Welcome to the true world of AK's, pre K-Var. Best one is that I have the last Kreb's Windage Adjustable peep sight- ever. I paid like $85 for the thing three years ago and some assclown on this website said, "I'll give you $70 for it". What part of "no longer available" is difficult to understand? Honestly if you want a Plum Russian 74 set with a non-serial numbered Plum Bayonet- I have one of those to for $350.

I think that was me...

I must not be the only one who thinks you over-value that Krebs sight, as it still isn't sold, even with you plugging it in every sight thread.

A new one is $65 (non-adjustable), and a Mojo id $60 (Midway sale).  It is a nice sight, but you love it more than anyone else.

That's funny, when I go to the KVAR website I now instinctively click on "New arrivals/Back in stock" button, right away.  To be fair they usually say that they only have a limited amount of something......"Arsenal has released a few of these to us....", etc.  examples from their homepage:

"Arsenal has given us a very limited quantity of the folding stock that will come standard on their upcoming SLR-106 rifle!"

"We have very limited quantities for the unheard of introductory price of $142.99!"

He's also got a super ultra-rare Smith revo for sale too. Complete with condescending pre-sale remarks

I just ordered one from DSA for $24.95

i have to say kvar has always had what i ordered in stock and shipped promptly. they are high priced but every part i've received has been in "new" condition sealed in plastic. on the opposite side of the spectrum you have companies like centerfire systems that are a crap shoot. you might get what they advertise, you might get something worth more, hell you might get two of the wrong part but they are cheap.

i like kvar for what they are. a high priced source for ak parts in excellent condition. that atleast updates their on hand quantities.

i'm a little bitter right now. i've ordered from 5 different vendors in the last few weeks. two of which didn't have what i ordered and one that i can't reach at all by phone or e-mail. oh and my cc# has been compramised and i had to cancel it after some ass jack ran up $400 in charges.

but my kvar order came through and i am very happy with it.

Note from DSA: Sorry, item on BACKORDER

God, how I hate websites that don't tie inventory to the webpage...you should not be able to put items into your Shopping Cart if they are not in stock!

Don't worry, like everything else, they'll be back in stock.
And when they are, they'll be back with an inflated price.

I'm sure we're all thrilled and impressed with your rare AK items and your uncanny AK knowledge.  I'll bet the OP was just looking for an answer to his question...not a dissertation from a pompous ass.
