Thinking about buying an AK.  Found a wasr10 never fired for $450.  Comes w/ strap, cleaning kit, 100 rounds of ammo, and 3 mags.  Is this a fair price for that?

Thanks,
Gary

Kinda high, for only a bit more you could get a Vector or Lancaster build, either of which would be much nicer.

Too much. Look at Classic Arms for some better prices.

Closer to 350 w/o the extra mags (20) and ammo (20).
Now if you can get your hands on it to inspect for "Romy Straightness" of the sights and side rail, I'll pay another 50 to avoid pot luck on Romy QC with a wholesaler blind order. Like a used car, are they selling because it's a lemon or....

I would consider these items to be a common courtesy that should be included with any rifle.

This would cost you probably around $25 with the current ammo prices

The rifle should include 1-2 mags anyway, but let's just assume it came with 1.

Extra mags can cost anywhere from $10 plus shipping on the EE or from Copes (etc) to $20 from a local store, so let's calculate this to be roughly $30 worth of gear

Now the value of the rifle varies.  If you bought it on GunBroker, sight unseen, the rifle would probably have a canted FSB, SB, or both and pretty bad mag wobble.  You would probably be OK paying $349 for a WASR on GunBroker, and fixing it up yourself, but you would also have to pay shipping and an FFL fee, so calculate that at $400.  Now a lot of people would be willing to pay $375-425 for a WASR that they were able to inspect that didn't have canted parts or mag wobble.  Remember that you're saving on shipping and an FFL fee this way as well, so even if it was $425, you're still only spending $25 more to get a better rifle, and saving a lot of time adjusting FSBs and GBs.

So assuming that you are buying this at a gun store/ftf, let's put the value at $400.  That's a good deal, and some would pay more.

By my calculations, that makes this package worth about $455, and that's on the low end.  So yes, I think it's a good deal.  Where you are saving money is the shipping and the FFL fee.  Remember that the same deal off GunBroker will have an additional ~$50 added to it for shipping and FFL.  So overall, this isn't the deal of the century, but it is a good price.  I would jump on this.

I would be buying it from local individual.

Thanks

I paid $339+tax for a WASR 10 NIB with two mags, mag pouch, cleaning kit, sling, and a knife bayonet.
