I don't know if this is already posted (I didn't see it) or not. I was flipping through my April copy of American Rifleman and noticed the big article on the BATFE. One of the side bars was for H.R. 4900 and the last note was that this bill "Restores a policy that allowed importation of barrels, frames, and receivers from non-importable firearms, when they can be used as repair or replacement parts".

Granted this is only a bill right now, but as I read it that would allow use to get AK barrels again along with FAL parts.

That is the way I read it as well.

Heres hoping that it will get passed in its current form. Until I ran across the article, I had not heard anything about it. Sure would be nice to get the cheap kits back with the original barrels intact.

I'd love to see the import ban go away completely. Makes no sense that a rifle is too evil to import, but as long as it is made here or has a few U.S. made parts its somehow a different rifle, Beuracracy at its retarded finest.
