Would someone point me in the right direction to find out the difference between the single hook and double hook?

My search foo is weak today. I am a sick puppy, so please, just the info don't tell me what a DUMB SHIT I am for not knowing and not being able to find it on search. Thanks

It's a really simple swap out if your reciever has the extra slot in it, just turn you rifle over and look at the area of the reciever directly in front of the trigger, when you pull the trigger you will see the trigger move in the slot(slots). If it's only got one slot, you can mill an extra one in easily. I like the tapco G2 double, it's an improved trigger pull, and Red Star arms makes a sweet adjustable trigger that drops in as well.

This is a receiver cut for a single hook trigger.  If there was a corresponding notch near the tip of the punch it would be for a double hook.

side by side comparison.

So I have a few Tapco G2 singles, how much difference in pull or slap is there between the two?

My Maadi has a single hook G2, and my NODAK kit built Rifle has a double hook.

Both are "slap-free", both improved the trigger pull considerably over a crappy Century trigger, or de-milled trigger.  Some Century AKs are rumored to have G2 triggers already installed.  Both are still long and creepy, but smoother, and lighter.

Great post Mak. I had the same question. I have 2 Romy G kits to build and a Polish UF. It sounds like the double is preferred? Which NDS receivers do you suggest I go with?
Do you build AK as well?

I personally think that the double hook G2 gives a crisper (though not lighter) trigger pull.  If you have a single hook receiver, you can always cut the second relief.

This is an NDS-3 single hook receiver that I modified to accept a double hook trigger.  The reason my cut (the upper one) is shorter is to minimize trigger overtravel.  The factory relief cut (the lower one) is excessive in length and the trigger hook "stop" passed right through the bottom of the receiver.

My Lancaster Romy looks the same way. But my Polish UF built by Lancaster has two full length cuts on a NDS-1p rec.
