The Mason/Dixon Frozen Nuts 2008 shoot was this weekend here in PA.  Weather was perfect and besides from a little mishap it all went good.

There's lots of pictures and some video as well.  Check it out and maybe join us at the spring shoot if you can make it.  Date isn't set yet though.

ETA:  Someone accidentally had a .223 loaded into a AK mag and shot it through a yugo RPK.  The case expanded to chamber size but it fired.  I guess those old rumors about being to shoot our ammo in their guns is true...  Took a little work to remove the case though.  We thought it was a squib at first.

Where in PA are these shoots? I have a Colt M16 that I only fire during deer season up in Phillipsburg PA. Would enjoy shooting it more and attending some shoots in PA. I am located in the Phila Burbs.

Those rumors concerning firing our ammo in their rifles mainly concern the M Nagant as  7.62x51 NATO cartridges will chamber and fire in a 762x54R M Nagant.  You'll have to get the case out with a rod down the muzzle as the Nagant's extractor doesn't have a rim on which to catch.

Yeah I've heard that one too.  I just thought it was funny when it happened...that was the first thing I though.  It was a very light pop so we figured it was a squib and went to clear it and check the barrel for obstructions only to find a Wolf .223 round fireformed in the chamber.  It even nailed the primer dead center.  The velocity was probably pretty darn low since the .22cal bullet had alot of space around its sides and gasses could pass it.  I wouldn't suggest doing it even in SHTF unless you want to look like a Revolutionary War soldier with a cleaning rod...
