I was going to say you must have spent a fortune on ammo!

Please tell me you are not one of those guys that has to take every gun he owns to the range...every single time.

Despite what you have heard....it's OK to just take a few to the range each trip

Cool guns

How much did you spend on the plating job on the M70?
1/19/2008 9:19:35 AM EDT
[#4]
No I cant afford to take all of my guns to the range every time I go.  I have quite a bit more than that and I took a couple just to site in with new optics that normally dont get to go to the range.  We were there from 10 AM till 5:30 PM  it was a long day.

I love those kind of "long days" though. Better than a long day at work.

And up all night cleaning...  Makes for a fun long day.

Oh you had to go and remind me of the cleaning.  That is by far the worst part of shooting any firearm but it is a nessasary evil.

What range is that?

Looking at those pictures makes me glad that I have two ranges within
ten minutes from my home . I almost never take more then two guns at a time
and try to set it up ahead of time so it's only one trip from the vehicle to the bench .

My goal is to eventually own a home where I can open a window  in my weapons
room and shoot any time I want or need to . With the ultimate goal being a
100+ yard underground range made from 12' culvert pipe

Wow that would be loud, an a HUGE eyesore.

Loud is relative and there are easy ways to reduce the echo . As for an eyesore .
How exactly would a UNDERGROUND range be an eyesore ?

It takes me over an hour to get to the range (Richmond Hill WMA range) so when I go I go all day. That 556 is my buddies we sited in his new reflex site on it.   I really like the 556 other than the trigger has way to much take up in it for my taste.  Other that that it is a very nice rifle.

Does the chrome plating on your ak peel off when the barrel gets hot?

I think chromed ak's look cool, but I worry about the plating coming off when you do rapid fire.

Thanks for the pics, as a firearm owner with a spinal cord injury, its hard to shoot from many platforms with my wheelchair.  I like the design of thier table.  Ill have to build one out at "the farm" similiar to theirs.

That's what I'm talking about!

Our FFL has land up north and has shoots for his customers at least four times a year--my vehicle always looks loaded down like that.  it's a lot more fun to shoot when you can do drills and hit steel...and shoot his machine guns!!

That chrome AK looks more and more nescessary for me to own every time I see it!

I love my SIG556.

Shot at my range today - it's outside Sierra Vista, AZ, and is pretty decent.  Usually zero to a couple people there at any given time.

Damn. I don't take more than 3 or 4 to the range just because I hate the cleaning I have to do afterwards....

Hey WLPITBULL..

Where do ya shoot a brother?..that looks like the range I go to!

Is it a Wilson Shoals WMA?

what kind of gun is this. is this some type of ar varient.
1/27/2008 12:05:24 PM EDT
[#29]
That is a SIG 556.  I is a piston driven .223 that accepts ar mags.  They are pretty dang sweet but have alot of take up in the trigger. I am pretty sure you cant interchange any AR parts with the sig.  and there is not much aftermarket stuff right now for them.
