Sigma 50mm f/1.4 art. Shot with a Canon 5d Mark iii. My wife does photography, so I get to steal the cameras/lens I paid for every now and then to get pics of my rifles haha.
Those are Soviet Geiger boxes. I use them for ammo storage.

Damn that's an awesome picture, and equally awesome rifle.

Pardon my ignorance, but can you give me some details on the rifle.

ETA:   As in is that factory Bakelite 56s-1, and who was the importer of the rifle.

Haha I have no need for the amount I originally bought, but I am keeping 6 because they do make it easier to tote around enough ammo for a good range trip. AR mags fit well in the too. I just like the Red Dawn look lol

Thanks man! It’s a “caught in customs” type 56s-1. It has threads and the folding stock unlike a Mak, but it has the Mak90 brand and had it’s bayo and accessory lug ground off. Basically, it would have already shipped before the ban, and arrived in country while everyone was trying to figure out how to comply. It just somehow managed to get pass without the threads being turned down or the Sporter stock added. I debanned it by removing the gas block and front sight block, and added a preban gas block and the Spiker assembly. The furniture is Bulgarian bakelite that I modified to work with the Spiker bayonet, and the pistol grip is a Polish bakelite grip. Below is a before and a couple after pics. I took these with my phone, so not as great of quality.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to give such an excellent reply.    Your very talented, and that's quite the impressive project.   A double UF is what got me finally into AKs, and while I couldn't afford a double UF, I managed to get a nice Siles 56s-1.

Congrats on your rifle, I'm sure it was worth all the effort!

Thanks man!! This was actually my first attempt at debanning an AK lol. It was a huge learning curve. I'm super OCD about anything that I take on, so a lot of headache too to get it just right, but any future deban going forward should be fairly cut and dry. I'd like to get into building, but even with the high cost of Chinese parts, you can't beat a debanned (or even a banned) Chinese AK for the overall cost. So I think there will be a few more Chinese AK's in my future before I decide to build one. Maybe even a Maadi.

Haha I'm right there with you. I bought my first AK in March of last year. I'm up to a Polytech Spiker, Norinco 56s, Mak90 underfolder spiker conversion, Arsenal SAM7sf, SGL-21, and a Vepr 12. Had an M70ab2, but sold it. It's been an expensive year to say the least lol

Saiga 12 stacked bodies today.

Went duck/goose hunting today with a friend.  Sadly due to a very serious allergy with his kids, he can't have any dogs.  Which isn't a YUGE deal to a lot of people, but for someone who does procure his own food, can be a detriment...as I learned today.

We had some come in, and we successfully harvested three of them.  Two were done before they hit the water, but one.....was not as willing to perform as he was expected.  He took off (slowly but surely) swimming in the opposite direction.  Now the lack of a dog NORMALLY isn't *TOO* big an issue; the water we hunt over is relatively shallow (maybe hip-deep out quite a ways, due to a lovely sandbar, at high tide) so my friend was able to retrieve the two that fell and stayed in the shallow water.

I drew the short straw (that's actually pronounced differently than it looks, it sounds more like "i was the one in any semblance of decent physical shape" if you say it out loud ) and hopped in the kayak to pursue the mortally wounded, but VERY tenacious--and rather large--gander.

I caught up to him about 150-200 yards off shore, and after dispatching (hahahaha that's what YOU think sucker!!) picked him up to place him in the kayak and return.  At least, that was the PLAN.  Sadly, unlike Hannibal Smith, my plan did *NOT* come together.  No, he was apparently just resting.  After taking two shotgun blasts to the head and neck.  And now.....now, friends, that goose was PISSED.

The kayak includes a small "tow rope" that allows it to be pulled behind as one makes one's way to the water.  That rope came in handy, as it allowed me, instead of battling a beak, wings, AND feet, to be able to isolate the feets, minimize the ability of the wings to do anything, and that seemed to calm him down.  Nature isn't always pretty, and sadly in this instance that was certainly true.

But in the end, the food chain remains intact, and I can very wholeheartedly say I.  Earned.  This.  Food.

That rifle belongs to RS Regulate.  I had it for some photo work.
I know the ACOG was a 2x with the ACSS reticle but don't recall the model.  The mount is an RS Regulate 301 lower mount and their AKOT upper mount.
